What are the minimum academic qualifications required for admission into the BAMS program?
As per the program standards set by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), candidates must meet one of the following academic qualifications for admission into the BAMS program:
STPM/STAM/Matriculation/Foundation:
- A pass in STPM (Non-Science stream) with a CGPA of at least 2.50 and credit in two Science subjects and Mathematics at the SPM level;
- A pass in STAM with a minimum Grade of Jayyid and credits in two Science subjects and Mathematics at the SPM level;
- Matriculation/Foundation in Science or T&CM-related fields with at least a CGPA of 2.50;
- Matriculation/Foundation in other fields with a CGPA of at least 2.50 and credits in two Science subjects and Mathematics at the SPM level.
Diploma Holders:
- A Diploma (MQF Level 4) in Traditional and Complementary Medicine (T&CM) or any Science-related field with a minimum CGPA of 2.50;
- A Malaysian Skills Diploma (DKM) or Malaysian Vocational Diploma (DVM) in T&CM or related Science fields with a CGPA of at least 2.50, subject to approval by the Higher Education Provider’s (HEP) Senate/Academic Board;
- An Advanced Malaysian Skills Diploma (DLKM) in T&CM or Science-related fields with a CGPA of at least 2.50, subject to Senate/Academic Board approval.
For CGPA Between 2.00 and 2.49 (Diploma Pathway):
Candidates with a CGPA between 2.00 and 2.49 may be considered for admission if they have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience in T&CM or Science-related fields, with final approval from the Senate/Academic Board.
Other Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, subject to the discretion and approval of the HEP’s Senate;
